Well Water Workshop
💧 Join us for a Well Water Workshop! 💧
Have questions about your well water? Want to better understand groundwater and local resources? This workshop is for you!

➡️ Shawano High School LGI Room
We’ll have experts from the Wisconsin DNR, Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service (WIPPS), and the Shawano & Menominee Counties Health Department (SMCHD) to guide you through everything you need to know about wells, groundwater, and the Well Tap Program.
✅ Bonus: Bring a sample of your well water to be screened for FREE right on site—your results will be ready by the end of the workshop!
⚠️ Pre-registration is required. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, ask questions, and take action to protect your water.
Healthy Lakes & Rivers Photo Contest
The Healthy Lakes & Rivers (HLR) Program is celebrating 10-years of improving habitat and water quality using 5 simple best practices. In honor of this milestone, we are hosting a photo contest and want to see how you are making healthy lakes and rivers!
Entries for the Healthy Lakes & Rivers photo contest are due September 30th, so start capturing those beautiful late-season blooms, submit a favorite wildlife photo, or send us your best project transformations! There are some great prizes on the line as well, including a free workshop at the Lakes & Rivers convention. Details on how to participate are outlined below.

If you do not have access to Google Forms, instructions for how to submit photos via email are provided on the website link.
Photos do not need to be of HLR grant-sponsored practices and can include DIY practices or existing natural shorelines.
Winners will be selected from each category (plus the most clever caption) and will enjoy prizes including Healthy Lakes & Rivers swag, a free workshop at the WI Lakes & River convention, inclusion of photo(s) in future Wisconsin Lakes & Rivers partnership publications, and bragging rights!

Where's WAMSCO 2025 Scavenger Hunt
Join us for the 3rd Annual Where's WAMSCO Scavenger Hunt! From June 15 - July 20, 2025, WAMSCO will have hidden 4 TREASURE BOXES at 4 different waterways in Shawano County. Each week, we'll release a clue for each location in the form of a riddle on our website and socials. Find each location and take a team picture with our WAMSCO treasure boxes. Once you've taken all 4 pictures, send them to us via email: wamsco.outreach@gmail.com, and we'll enter you into a drawing where you can win AWESOME PRIZES! Will you be able to find them all?

The power of words is immense, especially when advocating for our waters. By raising awareness, promoting conservation efforts, and crafting compelling messages, words can inspire action and drive positive change to protect our water resources for future generations.
WAMSCO will be presenting on Thursday, March 27 at 8:00am with our co-presenter Anne Bartels from the Marinette County Land Information Department.
