June Agriculture Newsletter
The newsletter discusses best management practices (BMPs) that farmers can implement to improve soil health and minimize environmental impact. BMPs such as cover crops and reduced tilling can increase soil organic matter, structure, and quality while reducing erosion and weeds. A farmer led watershed council is being established to discuss BMP experiences and benefits. An upcoming meeting only for farmers will provide a chance to share questions and concerns about BMPs without outside input.
